The Harry Potter film franchise didn’t highlight the Ravenclaw house, which is a shame, isn’t it? Considering its rich history, you’d expect some more represantion, wouldn’t you? But the focus was just on 2 houses: Gryffindor and Slytherin. Luckily for us, Hogwarts Legacy changes things, as it features over a dozen noteworthy members of the Ravenclaw house. And today, I will be ranking the very best students in the blue and bronze household! So, are you ready to get started? Here are the top 5 Ravenclaw students in Hogwarts Legacy!
5. Everett Clopton
Voice By: Luke Youngblood
Everett Clopton is the obnoxious and annoying Ravenclaw, who overstays his welcome. While I enjoy the daring broom ride during flight class, his behavior and personality is challenging to deal with. Sure, he’s intentionally written to be irritating, with an ill-fitting voice. However, he could’ve been so much more if he wasn’t that “weird kid in class, who’s weird just for the sake of being weird.” It doesn’t help that he’s an arrogant prankster. It’s like he’s supposed to make me want to use an unforgivable curse on him or something? If that’s the case, than Everett is a pretty good character. But I’m not sure that’s the case. With that being said, he’s good enough for what he’s used for in the game, but doesn’t offer much else.
Considering my harsh criticism of Everett Clopton, you might be wondering how he made the list? It’s very simple. He has some personality, making him less bland than most other kids in Hogwarts. Given, that’s a back-handed compliment. However, I’m saying that he’s the best of the worst in the Ravenclaw house, and actually adds some flavor. He’s not the bland, boring, student that feels run-of-the-mill. Quite the opposite. Everett is an arrogant Ravenclaw, who likes to prank people and make fun of them. For those reasons, I still enjoy his inclusion in the Hogwarts Legacy.
4. Astoria Crickett
Voice By: Georgia Dolenz
Astoria Crickett is the mean-mugging Ravenclaw who stands across from you during the first duel in Crossed Wands: Round 1. Wand in-hand, she tries to take your eyes out and embarass you in front of the other students. It’s not a pleasant encounter, but it’s not the last we see of the constantly furious Astoria Crickett. In fact, she returns later in the game with the funniest quest in Hogwarts Legacy, titled Portrait in a Pickle. It introduces us to the hilarious Ferdinand Octavious Pratt, and it gives us more time with Astoria Crickett. Oh, what a lovely sight it was to once again see her smoldering essence and stone cold gaze, matched with tons of attitude and defensive posture. It was truly something to witness, and it made me like her more than I expected.
When it comes to Astoria Crickett’s personality, it’s safe to say that she’s quite prickly and very unaware of her own condescending tone. It’s not necessarily bad, but it does make her seem somewhat arrogant. Ironically enough, I actually like her personality. It’s fitting for someone in Ravenclaw to have this type of a vibe, considering that they are considered to be the “book smart” house in Hogwarts. While there might be other reasons for her behavior, Astoria does enough for me to appreciate her prickly behavior, so she gets a decent spot on the list.
🥉 Zenobia Noke
Voice By: Jennifer Veal
All she wanted was to play Gobstones and make a few friends. But instead, she was robbed of her playthings by the one who gives Gryffindor a bad name, Leander Prewett. While we as her new friend help Zenobia find her Gobstones, we sadly can’t help her make friends. It’s exactly this part of Zenobia’s story that truly resonated with me, as she was the one and only student in Hogwarts that was genuinelly bullied. She didn’t have any friends, and those are her words, not mine. In turn, Zenobia Noke was a breath of fresh air in an odd way, as her struggles made her stand out. I honestly felt sorry for her and wished that our paths would cross again. Sadly, we didn’t get to know her any better, and that’s a shame. I think her struggles and fun-loving personality would’ve made for an excellent character.
🥈 Amit Thakkar
Voice By: Asif Ali
Amit Thakkar is the chaser of stars, the man behind the astronomy tables, and the “talented” Ravenclaw who can speak gobbledegook. Well, he thinks he can speak it, but according to our dear friend Lodgok, he’s speaking gibberish!
I’m sure many are wondering why Amit Thakkar doesn’t top this list? After all, he’s involved in an excellent main story quest, titled It’s All Gobbledegook. And he’s the one that introduces us to the astronomy tables. Together with his kind personality and gentle behavior, what’s not to like about Amit? Well, I feel that he’s forcefully written into the storyline, without any rhyme or reason to be a part of it. While I enjoyed the quest, including him felt unnecessary and weird. I mean, nobody else could read Gobbledegook? That makes no sense. In addition, the way he’s introduced is just awkward and extremely uncomfortable. This makes him come across like an afterthought, rather than a fully integrated character like others on this list.
All in all, I do like Amit Thakkar. But when I’m creating a list of the top 5 Ravenclaw students in all of Hogwarts Legacy, I have to nitpick. I honestly hope to see Amit return in future DLC and the sequel to this masterpiece!
🥇 Samantha Dale
Voice By: Holly J. Barrett
During your time in Hogwarts, you’ll come across Samantha Dale. Time and time again, she’ll show her presence here and there; everywhere. You’ll see her in Charms, Potions, and face her in Summoner’s Court. She will even reveal a family curse affecting her brother in the ‘Beeting’ a Curse questline, in which we’ll learn about Samantha’s family. In turn, you will find yourself near and around Samantha Dale throughout the game. I honestly can’t imagine the game not seeing her. She’s kind of like that supporting character that you see in every Harry Potter film, but don’t know her name or what role she plays in the story.
Samantha Dale is an upbeat young woman, who’s energy could light up a room. It’s like she’s overconfident, but justifiably so, which is quite a remarkable feeling. With her kind and warm behavior, she’s a treat to be around and every line of dialogue she utters comes across fitting. Therefore, I’d say that Samantha is fully integrated into the world of Hogwarts Legacy. She’s a better version of random students, but actually has a distinct personality that makes her a bit more memorable. While she’s not necessary an “amazing” character, she’s definitely the very best Ravenclaw in Hogwarts Legacy!
