The Slytherin House is filled with young cunning hearts and ambitious minds. Whether we’re talking about Imelda Reyes, who’s overly competitive in broom flying, or Sebastian, who will stop at nothing to save his sister, the Slytherin students are the best of the bunch. The depth in character-writing is on another level, with many Slytherin students being among the very best in Hogwarts Legacy. But the question is, as always, who’s the best? What magical boy or girl stole the spotlight in your opinion? Who made you drop your jaw, roll it across Hogwarts, and take it on a broom flight? Well, uncover the list of the top 5 Slytherin students in Hogwarts Legacy, right here, right now!
5. Nerida Roberts

Nerida Roberts is a Slytherin student, who used to train her broom flying skills together with Imelda Reyes. While her former bestie continued to practice, Nerida dropped the hobby and instead focused on the Merpeople. In the quest ‘Mer-ky’ Depths, we learn about her interest in the people that dwell underneath the surface, even retrieving an artifact for Nerida. According to the game, we even strengthened the bond between humans and Merpeople! While that’s a hard thing to believe, it’s definitely something worth noting. And it’s all thanks to Nerida!
While Nerida is a small character in Hogwarts Legacy, her inclusion is welcomed. With a good quest to her name, she at least stands out a little bit, next to other Slytherin students. While I am not saying that she’s a great character, I’m saying that she’s the 5th best Slything student in my humble opinion!
4. Imelda Reyes

Imelda Reyes is one of the most misunderstood characters in Hogwarts Legacy. I’ve often seen people say that “she’s annoying and hard to like” and “she’s so cocky, I can’t stand her.” While I can agree that she’s hard to like, I’d say that her personality makes logical sense. Considering that she’s a competitive person, who loves broom flying, it’s understandable for her to look down on others that don’t put in the same amount of effort. I mean, she respects us when we prove ourselves, and she becomes friendly. It’s an “obstacle” for us, the MC, to overcome to see who she really is inside. If you didn’t play all of the broom flying quests, then it’s easy to dislike her. But that’s the whole point. You see, every character is supposed to be instantly likable. It’s good to have contrast in characters.
Honestly, I hope that Imelda Reyes returns in future DLC or in the sequel of Hogwarts Legacy. There’s an obvious storyline for Imelda Reyes, considering that she desperately wants to play Quidditch, and she has big aspirations. It’s truly a great setup for something fun and bold, as you could make a storyline out of her actually not making the Quidditch team, even with all her practice. It would pull her down several notches and create a story of redemption that us, the MC, could help her achieve. If not, it could be a story of jealousy and conflict, which would also make sense for Imelda Reyes.
Personally I found Imelda Reyes to be a solid Slytherin student. Easily one of the best. In turn, I’m really happy to give her the 4th spot on my list of the top 5 Slytherin students in Hogwarts Legacy.
🥉 Anne Sallow

First and foremost, let me just say that Anne Sallow is indeed a Slytherin student in Hogwarts. Sure, she’s a former student, but a student nonetheless. It’s only because of her pain that she can’t attend Hogwarts, being consumed by the illness caused by a curse. In turn, she’s not at Hogwarts, but considering her age group and her large part in the story, I couldn’t leaver her off this list. So, I’m including her, and she’s getting a bronze medal!
Anne Sallow Is The Reason For An Entire Sub-Plot

Anne Sallow is Sebastian’s sister, who’s in constant pain after, unbeknownst to her, she was cursed by Victor Rookwood. Not only did this lead to a life of agony, but it affected everyone around her, especially Sebastian. This lead Sebastian down a path that would change him forever. A path that would include Dark Arts, fighting, and murder. However, this isn’t about Sebastian. It’s about him wanting to save his sister from the pain. But it’s not something Anne asked for, and before we knew it, we were caught up in a twisted family drama ourselves. It’s one that starts and ends with Anne. It’s the reason she’s the most integral part of the Sallow storyline. Without her, no one gets hurt. Without her pain, nobody would’ve died. Thus, is the sad tale of Anne. It’s what gives her life, in the grand scheme of Hogwarts Legacy.
When I look at Anne Sallow as a character, on paper, she’s really well-written. It’s obvious that her personality and behavior is shaped by her illness, but now and again, we see glimpses of her true self. The one before the pain, and a life without attending Hogwarts. A young girl with interested, good intentions and a lively spirit. Sadly, barely any of it is left. But that’s what I’d say makes her character feel deep and complex. A lot of what makes Anne good as a character lies in the gray zone. At face value, she’s decent. But when you dig deeper, she’s a really good character. Maybe even great.
🥈 Ominis Gaunt

I must admit, it was a close call between Ominis Gaunt and Sebastian Sallow, as both of them are really well woven into the storyline of Hogwarts Legacy. While I’ll tell you later why Sallow got the 1st place, I have to explain my thought process around Ominis Gaunt. So, let me delve into his genius, and give an explanation to why he’s the second best Slytherin, and one of the best characters in Hogwarts Legacy!
Born Blind. Tortured By Own Family. Great Uncle of Voldemort.
Ominis Gaunt is a brilliant character, who acts as the voice of reason throughout the A Sallow Grave questline. His insight and connection to the Dark Arts is invaluable, leading to seriously wicked information, followed by Ominis Gaunt’s own tragic backstory. He was born blind, into the Gaunt family, who only supported pure-bloods. They would cast Crucio on regular people (Muggles) just for fun, and even tried forcing Ominis to do it as a little child. When he refused, his own flesh and blood cast the Crucio curse on him, shocking him to the core. While he had to live with the experience, and the pressure of his pure-blood family, Ominis didn’t resent or hate Muggles. In fact, he was fine with them. But when you consider that he’s the descendant of Salazar Slytherin, you see the rift it caused in the Gaunt family.
Oh, and in case you didn’t already know, Ominis Gaunt is the great uncle of Lord Voldemort. It is this little bit of information that makes Ominis even more interesting, and vital, in the grand scheme of things.
Ominis Is Very Likable
Ominis Gaunt is a very likable character, and his polar opposite views of Sebastian make for some truly interesting moments. His complicated friendship with both Sebastian and Anne add another layer to his character, as he knows them both really well. In turn, his views are genuinelly authentic. He doesn’t want anything from the Sallows. If anything, he doesn’t want to see anyone get hurt. Hence why he tries to protect Sebastian during his insane journey. But what makes Ominis truly great is how you as a player progress through the story. Depending on your choices, you’ll get to hear some different dialogue lines, and a different conclusion to the Sallow storyline.
His authentic and realness makes Ominis Gaunt stand out, but his complexity and depth are the reason he’s so likable. Add to that his badass slick-back hairstyle, ominous demeanor and good heart, and you got yourself a truly well-written character. I could say much more about Ominis, but you get my point, surely? He’s simply a fantastic character, and her earns himself the 2nd spot on my list of the top 5 best Slytherin students of Hogwarts Legacy!
🥇 Sebastian Sallow

Sebastian Sallow is a tragic case, isn’t he? From his eagerness and passion to save Anne from a life of pain and agony, to his unrivaled will and strength in achieving the impossible, he’s a character you won’t forget. Whatever decisions you make during his questline, he will always come across as a genuinelly concerned brother, who’s willing to kill, in order to achieve all of his goals. It’s what makes him so dangerous, but what also makes him so human. However, it is a journey that is covered in the Sallow family pain, fear, conflict and blood. Therefore, it’s a tragic family drama that we, as the MC, are tossed into. But oh boy, does it take us on literally the BEST, most terrifying and exciting ride, in all of Hogwarts Legacy.
In his core, Sebastian is a young boy torn by the pain of his sister, Anne. But on the outside, is a young man who yearns for power to change the world, just like Isidora Morganach. However, Sebastian doesn’t understand that with great power, comes great responsibility. It’s not just a quote that fits Spider-Man, but to every single person who has power. In turn, what we have in Sebastian Sallow, is a person torn between doing what’s right and doing what he wants. There lies the inner conflict and the gray area that makes Sebastian’s story the best in the game. It’s what gives him a multi-layered character, without even mentioning his relatable behavior and likable personality.
Let’s wrap this up, shall we? This is the list of the top 5 best Slytherin students in Hogwarts Legacy, and I crown Sebastian Sallow as the very best of the best!
