Asobi Asobase is a side-splitting comedy, with so many humorous moments that I can’t even count them all! It’s a joyride, and it wouldn’t be as good if it wasn’t for the superb soundtrack. From its heartwarming and joyful opening to its head-banging and heart-pounding ending, it goes without saying that; Asobi Asobase has good music. In turn, I ask myself “what are the 5 best Asobi Asobase songs”? Well, I guess it’s time for me to figure it out, right? Here’s my list of the 5 best songs from Asobi Asobase!

Honorable Mention: Brother of Olivia
There’s something special about tracks like “Brother of Olivia”, that’s over-the-top energetic and so light-hearted, yet fun! While music is extremely subjective, it’s a piece I’m sure all of us can appreciate it one way or another. So I just had to include it as an honorable mention!
5. Harench Trial
The “Harench Trial” reminds me of old-school detective cartoons, where a murder would always be accompanied by a disturbing track. It’s eerie, scary and sounds like something you’d hear entering Dracula’s mansion, isn’t it? But that’s what happens when you use an instrument like the organ. While it’s rarely used, it’s always effective in creating a distinct vibe. In this case, it’s the feeling of a looming terror, that’ll force you to play rock-paper-scissors until you can’t move your hands anymore! But I digress from my foolishness and simply say that I like the “Harench Trial” more than I should. And I’m not sorry for it.
4. Shogi Department
The “Shogi Department” is a track that’ll have you head-banging like a 90’s rockstar, and there is nothing wrong with that, even if people say that there is, ok? Anyways, it’s an instrumental that beautifully fits the crazy over-the-top nature of Asobi Asobase and it’s loveably wacky characters. It’s raw, up-tempo and very energetic, which makes it a fitting track for this particular anime. While in some context this would be an insult, in this case it’s a compliment.
3. Flick Swap
There are plenty of fun and happy songs in Asobi Asobase, but only a few are as good as Flick Swap. It’s as light at a cloud and as refreshing as a cold breeze on a summer’s day, or maybe that’s just me? Nevertheless, I find Flick Swap to be a track that beautifully gives flavor to the three main characters of Asobi Asobase. There’s no crouchy undertone or hidden meanings; it’s simple, it’s fun and it’s beautifully childish. Thus, I’m happy to rank this song as the 3rd best Asobi Asobase song.
2. Inkya Impulse
Here’s a game; play this song to one of your friends, and see whether or not they can guess the genre of the show. I’d put good money on them not being able to guess that this heavy metal rock song is the ending song of a comedy anime, featuring 3 young school girls, and their wacky everyday lives!
Who could’ve thought that the Asobi Asobase ending song would be an over-the-top rock song with an instrumental that’ll make you want to scream your lungs out? Not me, but I was pleasantly surprised by that fact, and do you want to know the best thing about the song? It’s performed by the 3 main characters: Hanako Honda, Kasumi Nomura and Olivia. In other words, it’s performed by Hina Kino, Rika Nagae and Konomi Kohara. However, it’s not just performed by them, it’s really well performed. It’s legitimately an excellent ending song, and it’s the 3 main voice actors who created it! When I found that out, I was baffled. Thus, I want to give Inkya Impulse extra credit. It deserves it.
The Lyrics of Inkya Impulse Are Awesome!
When it comes to the lyrics of Inkya Impulse, it’s safe to say that the song is a comedic ones with the lines above being a great example of that. While it may seem like it’s a haphazardly thrown together track, it’s actually quite the opposite. In-fact, most of the lines refer to something that actually happens in Asobi Asobase. Thus, only some lines are “random”; only there to connect one line to another, while giving some flavor to the song. With that said, it’s a song that fully understands what it’s doing. While it feels like it’s all over the place, it’s actually a song that can be best described as “controlled chaos”! I’m all for it! I genuinelly enjoy it.

1. Three Piece (Suripisu)
Is there anything more precious than a song about friendship? How it’s difficult to admit when you like someone, and as a child/teenager, not knowing how to show appreciation to a person you really like being with? In all honesty, I enjoy a good romantic love song just like everybody else does. But, there’s something wholesome about a song that talks about the love between friends. Therefore, Three Piece warms my heart, as I really like the topic and the meaningful message of the song.
Just like with Inkya Impulse, Three Piece (Suripisu) is performed by Hina, Rika and Konomi; the voice actors of Hanako, Kusumi and Olivia. Their energy can be felt with each word, and there’s no lack of enthusiasm in the performance; they completely nail it. So, with that being said, I crown Three Piece as the best of the best songs of Asobi Asobase!
I hope you enjoyed the list. I loved writing it!
