Jurassic Park and Jurassic World have some of the best logos in cinema history. I’d even call them iconic, and it all dates back to the original Jurassic Park logo from 1993. It’s simple, yet captivating, with a design that would perfectly work as an ink stamp. It’s just marvelous, isn’t it? But what about the rest of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World logos? Some are phenomenal, and others are a poor attempt att clinging on to what made the symbol legendary. So, I guess it’s time to see where these logos stack when compared to one another? Here’s every Jurassic Park and Jurassic World logo ranked from worst to best!
6. Jurassic Park 3
The Jurassic Park 3 logo is the only one to not feature the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Instead, it’s the Spinosaurus that takes its position against the red background. While I’m not opposed to the change entirely, I feel like they completely dropped the ball with this logo. It’s just too, well… too much silver? Too metallic? It’s like a logo for The Fast and the Furious franchise, and NOT Jurassic Park. It’s really hard to explain, as it feels like a knock-off logo, with it’s metallic look. While I like the two Pterodactyls flying at the bottom part of the logo, and the shade of the red background, everything else feels almost incompatible. It’s a design that was doomed by its creativity alone, and that’s blatantly obvious.
There’s no question that this logo is the worst of the bunch. In my book, it’s abysmal. There’s no need for the metallic color scheme and scratches that create the roman number 3. Sadly, I can’t back this logo at all, and feel like it doesn’t match up to a single logo on this list. Hence why I’m starting off the ranking with Jurassic Park 3 logo at the bottom.
5. Jurassic World
Let’s be honest, shall we? The logo for Jurassic World is very simple, without much to it. What we’ve got here is the original Jurassic Park logo stripped from all color and character, with a 3D effect. It’s not good-looking, innovative or creative in any way, shape or form. It’s just plain and dull. What I was expecting was much more, as it was the great big return of the Jurassic Park movies, and this was the logo they came up with? I’m sorry to say this, but it’s not good enough.
I lack the words to describe this logo as it’s awfully simplistic in essence, and therefore, I can’t rank it higher. It’s easily at the bottom of the list. If every logo from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World was to be ranked from most creative to least creative, this one would take the cake!
4. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom logo is almost identical to the Jurassic World logo, but it’s cracked. It symbolises, quite literally, the title of the movie and the events what take place in it as well. In turn, I’d say that the logo serves its purpose well, while increasing readability, using darker tones, and a more distinct design. It’s not often the sequel has a better logo, but in this case, I’d give Fallen Kingdom an edge over Jurassic World. I simply believe that the cracks add another layer to the logo, and the dark greys and black colors, make it easy to distinguish. I’m not thinking what I’m seeing, as it’s very obvious and blatant, and in this case it works well.
This logo looks like an ancient stone tablet found at Isla Nublar. It has more depth than any other logo on this list. Not only that, but it has some real stone texture to it, with the 3D style making it pop off the screen. With that being said, it lands just short of the podium spot.
🥉 The Lost World: Jurassic Park
The Lost World: Jurassic Park logo is arguably the most realistic logo of the bunch, and what I mean is that it looks like a photograph of a weathered logo in real life. It’s something that not a single other Jurassic Park or Jurassic World logo manages to achieve, and thus, I’m giving it some extra credit. It’s a great approach as it preserves the best parts of the original logo, while changing it enough to make it feel different. What remains is the color scheme and design, but what’s added is the 3D dimensional elements and the worn appearance. The subtle changes are enough to keep the logo interesting and memorable.
This logo follows the same creative direction as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom logo does. By that I mean that both movies simply alter the logo from the movie prior, isntead of reinventing it completely. It’s not an all too creative approach, but it works as it preserves the essence of the movie that came before it. In turn, it works as a homage, but also shows how the sequel changes things, quite literally in fact. Therefore, I really like how The Lost World logo alters the original Jurassic Park logo. It does it justice, while still altering the texture and look enough for it to become its own thing.
🥈 Jurassic World: Dominion
Say what you will about Jurassic World: Dominion, the logo is fantastic! What makes it special is the fact that it’s the T. Rex silhouette trapped in amber. It’s a throwback to the first movie, in which we see the fly inside an amber pocket. Therefore, it’s a way to bring the logo full circle, with a proper connection to the earlier movies. After all, it all started with an amber fossil. So to end the 6-movie franchise with a logo encompassing that is truly marvelous.
From a design standpoint, I like the light that eminates from the back of the logo, as if there’s sunlight coming from the other side. It lights up the entire amber fossil, making all the darker features pop extremely well. It’s easy to read, simple in design, but interesting enough to be considered creative. In turn, I don’t really have a bad word e to say about this logo. I just want to say that it looks excellent!
🥇 Jurassic Park
Let’s be honest, you’re not surprised that the original Jurassic Park logo takes the first place, right? After all, it’s the logo that every Jurassic Park and Jurassic World logo is based on. It’s simply a perfect logo, and it’s undeniably legendary. With it’s pitch black background, warm yellow colors and the screaming red, the logo pops like a flashlight in the dark. It’s so vibrant and electric, with a creative design that works on all levels. It’s not just about the colors, but about how the colors emphasize the well-structured design. Everything from the letters with the red inline to the T. Rex silhoutte is well thought out, without a gap in creativity. Even the palm trees at the bottom fit well. I mean, just looking at this logo, I’m in awe, and you should be as well.
Now, with every logo Jurassic Park and Jurassic World logo ranked from worst to best, it’s time to crown the original movie’s logo as the winner! It’s from 1993. For over 30 years, it’s been the best Jurassic Park logo! With that being said, Jurassic Park logo reigns supreme!
