When League of Legends gave birth to Arcane, we all knew it was gonna be great. But did anyone expect Arcane to be THIS good? Whether it’s the story, the action or the humor, there’s plenty to sink our teeth into, and today I’ll focus on comedy. This means it’s time to list the 3 funniest moments from Arcane: Episode 1!
While the 1st episode is light on humor, there are some humorous scenes. So it’s time to rank them! Thus, I hope you enjoy the list.

3. Ekko Shows Claggor His Moves

Admittedly, this scene isn’t that funny, now is it? But it’s a heartwarming moment that is mildly humorous, because it’s the first real look at Ekko. Thus, it stood out to me more than many Mylo moments, and he’s funny! But with that said, I really laughed at seeing Ekko shadow-boxing and showing Claggor what Vi tought him. It’s light-hearted and simple, but an endearing funny moment that I enjoyed.
2. Vander & Benzo’s Classic “Strangers” Routine

There’s always room in my heart for classic comedy routines, and the “strangers” one is among the very best! Simply put, it’s when two (or more) people meet and they act like they don’t know each other or act like they’re enemies. But in reality, it’s just roleplay, to see who cracks up and starts laughing first. So, the winner is the one who can keep a straight face while lying through their teeth! Oh, I love it!
This moment deserves a light-hearted chuckle, doesn’t it? Whether it’s the set-up or the camera angles, it’s a humorous scene with a worthwhile “strangers” sketch. But best of all, it’s effective because we’ve never met Benzo before, and thus, we genuinelly believe Vander and the shop-owners possible conflict. However, it’s all just playful banter!
1. Vi Shows Mylo Her “Shut-Up” Face

Honestly, is anyone surprised? You knew this was going to be #1, so let’s skip the theatrics, alright? Oh, no. We can’t do that! Theatrics and being overly-dramatic is the main reason this moment is the funniest in episode 1 of Arcane. So just forget what I said, and be as theatrical as you want! Now… on with the explanation!
When Vi is arguing with Mylo, and defending Powder, the scene goes from intense to funny in a split second. And I mean jaw-dropping humor where you’ll hold your gut and pray you breathe again! You know, the type of laughter where you cannot stop wheezing? Nevertheless, Vi’s “shut-up” face is an effective funny moment as it comes out of nowhere and it’s well-structured. It’s a beautifully animated scene with Vi’s facial expressions and body language telling a tale of their own. Thus, it is undoubtedly the best funny moment!
Studio Fortiche needs praise for their work on Arcane. While there are many great example of their hard work and effort, this moment is definitely one of them. The way in which they portray emotion through subtle facial changes is noteworthy. It is not as simple as it looks, and it’s much harder to get all the pieces of the puzzle to work together. Thus, I’d just like to bring more attention to them any chance I get!
Shout out to Vi’s voice actor, Hailee Steinfled.
