TONIKAWA: Over the Moon For You (Tonikaku Kawaii) season 2 is in production, announced with an 80-second teaser trailer. There’s no official release date. But the TV anime will most likely be released in 2022.
Tonikaku Kawaii’s cast and crew will return for Season 2. Thus, Hiroshi Ikehata is back as the director and Kazuho Hyoudou will handle the series composition. This also means that Satoshi Motoyama (sound director), Kou Aine and Reina Iwasaki, animation directors, are on the project as well. Plus, studio Seven Arcs is back to create the 2nd season. The TV anime is based on Kenjirou Hata‘s manga Tonikaku Kawaii. But it’s also known as Fly Me To The Moon, Generally Cute and TONIKAWA: Over the Moon For You. The manga debuted on February 14, 2018.
Regardless of what you choose to call Tonikaku Kawai, Kenjirou Hata’s manga is very popular. Thus, it comes as no surprise that the anime was succesful, and that it’ll get a 2nd season, with the trailer available below!

Plot of Season 1: “Nasa meets a “generally cute” girl named Tsukasa on the day of his high school entrance exams, and immediately falls in love with her. Nasa confesses his feelings, but her response is that she will only go out with him if they get married. Years later, on Nasa’s 18th birthday, she suddenly appears to get married. Thus begins Nasa’s newlywed lifestyle.”
