Kyoto Animation is creating the Tsurune movie, with Takuya Yamamura returning to direct. But there’s not much more information, as further details will be coming within the coming months. After all, the Tsurune movie is rumored to premiere in early 2022. Thus, it could be a January anime film! Well, I can hope, can’t I? Nevertheless, patience is key, so let’s just wait and see what comes our way!
The anime is based on Kotoko Ayano’s manga, titled Tsurune: Kazemai Koukou Kyuudoubu. It’s illustrated by Chinatsu Morimoto, and tells the story of an archery club. While that’s the subject the story revolved around, in it’s core Tsurune is a straight-up drama. Simply put, there’s heavy focus on character development into adulthood and how these characters deal with competition. Plus, it’s a heartwarming tale about comradery and what it means to be an archer.
