Just over 1 month ago, Melodifestivalen 2023 concluded with Loreen winning the contest, and while all eyes are on the queen, many other artists “won” in their own way as well! While there is obviously only one winner, many artists are seeing record number of streams, meaning that they were a succesful entry. In other words, it’s not only Loreen who is enjoying the success of Melodifestivalen 2023. I’m pretty sure that many entries are blown away by the success they are having, and it’s a beautiful sight, isn’t it? So, how about we take a closer look at the most succesful songs from Mello 2023? Here are the 10 most streamed Melodifestivalen 2023 songs on Spotify!
*PS. The number of streams are bound to change with time.
10. Maria Sur – Never Give Up – 2,479,973
Maria Sur starts off our list with her song about perseverance and, quite literally, never giving up! While the song stands on its own, without any clarification needed, it is in-fact about the war in Ukraine. If you didn’t know, Maria Sur is Ukranian, and she fled from the war. Thus, the song is as much about her inner strength as it is about the conflict in her home country.
When it comes to the numbers, it’s logical for the song to garner a good amount of streams, as it directly qualified to the final of Melodifestivalen 2023. While she didn’t challenge Loreen in the final, she made a name for herself in Sweden; and that’s valuable. So whatever happens next, I simply hope that we will see Maria Sur return to Melodifestivalen in the future!
9. Kiana – Where Did You Go – 3,652,461
This is Kiana‘s one and only song on Spotify, and it has over 3 million streams. If that’s not an impressive feat, I don’t know what is? Also, let’s not forget that Kiana is 16 years old, and that Where Did You Go is her debut single! Therefore, it’s safe to say that this young woman is off to an excellent start in a career that will hopefully reach even greater heights. But for now, she should just enjoy the success at Melodifestivalen 2023.
8. Panetoz – On My Way – 3,830,930
Panetoz can be happy with these numbers, knowing full-well that summer is just around the corner, and that this song is going to blow up! Then, every single radio station will be playing this song on repeat, and that’s not surprising. When you consider that Panetoz are known for making summer hits, it’s just a logical conclusion that they will earn more streams in just a few months. Therefore, the guys are on their way to even bigger things!
7. Elov & Beny – Raggen Går – 4,548,489
Raggen Går is the only song on this list that didn’t make it to the final of Melodifestivalen 2023. That means that Elov & Beny snatched the hearts of the Swedish people with their “epa-dunk” song in the first Mello show! This feel-good song will be blasted in every Volvo and Epa tractor in the country, and it’ll surely crack 10 million streams before the end of the year!
6. Nordman – Släpp alla sorger – 4,670,354
Nordman debuted in 1994, which means that the duo will celebrate their 30 year anniversary next year, and what a celebration it will be! To think that in their 29th year, the duo released one of their best songs to date is absolutely insane, but it’s the truth. Släpp alla sorger was instantly loved by the Swedish fans, who have been waiting for the return of the duo for years. And return they did, in style, with a fantastically well-written song and beautiful melodies, as if they had never left us. Therefore, I’m both joyous and proud of Nordman’s success in Mello 2023, and hope that they return in the future.
5. Jon Henrik Fjällgren – Where You Are (Sávežan) – 5,656,153
When I first heard that Arc North and Adam Woods collaborating with Jon Henrik Fjällgren, I was thoroughly confused. Like, how on earth is this trio going to mix EDM with joik? At first glance, it just seemed weird and downright wrong. However, they pulled a rabbit out of the hat and managed to create a decent song. But it’s not a song I appreciate, it’s undoubtedly a preferred taste to mis EDM with jojk. But, Where You Are (Sávežan) is clearly a hit song, as it’s the 5th most streamed song on this list of the 10 most streamed Spotify Melodifestivalen 2023 songs!
4. Marcus & Martinus – Air – 6,894,404
Considering the duo’s large following, it comes as no surprise that their song is the 4th most streamed Mello 2023 song on Spotify. If anything, it was expected. However, that’s not a bad thing. If anything, Marcus & Martinus will now surely have their summer booked up by various Nordic TV shows that’ll want them to perform Air. So I’m happy for the duo and expect them to take their success at the Swedish Melodifestivalen to their native Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix! Hopefully they will enter for Norway, win, and represent their home country. That would be a sight to see!
3. Theoz – Mer av dig – 7,566,395
Theoz is one of 3 entries with more than 5 million streams on Spotify, and that’s comes as no surprise when you consider Theoz’s large following in Sweden. But what’s impressive is the sheer number of streams, as getting nearly 7 million streams in 1 months time is simply jaw-dropping. It’s safe to say that Theoz created another hit, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing this song played on the radio for months to come!
2. Smash Into Pieces – Six Feet Under – 8,811,783
Smash Into Pieces entered Melodifestivalen with their style, sound, lyrics and it turned out to be a smashing hit! While that was to be expected, considering their success in with rock fans, it was unclear whether or not their style of music would be appreciated by the audience of Melodifestivalen. But considering the fact that the song placed 3rd in the contest, it’s safe to say that Smash Into Pieces is for everybody. Not only that, it has over 8 million streams on Spotify, and that number will surely grow rapidly. Honestly, the success in Melodifestivalen is just another feather in the group’s cap.
1. Loreen – Tattoo – 36,408,279
Loreen‘s Tattoo is the only Mello 2023 song with over 30 million Spotify streams, eclipsing every other entry by more than 26 million streams. Simply put, Loreen is in a league of her own. Therefore, she tops this list of the 10 most streamed Melodifestivalen 2023 songs on Spotify, with her song Tattoo!
There’s no two ways about it; Loreen deserves the success and she’s the rightful winner of Melodifestivalen 2023. While it’s difficult to predict how well Loreen will do at Eurovision 2023, she’s currently the favorite to win it!
The song will easily clear 50 million before Eurovision 2023, and it’ll most likely earn around 100 million streams before we welcome the year 2024. Therefore, it’ll be exciting to see how these numbers change and whether or not Tattoo will be as popular as Euphoria!
