Ever since Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie was announced, I’ve been patiently waiting for more info regarding Doga Kobo‘s adaptation. But in all honesty, I could’ve never predicted that the talented Saori Oonishi will be the voice of Micchon Shikimori! Maybe that’s just me? But keep in mind that I genuinelly like Saori Oonishi’s work, and thus feel very happy with this selection. I mean, if you weren’t excited before, maybe this announcement will get you as fired up as me? So let’s dig into it!
Saori Oonishi made her voice acting debut as Sister Ichijou in AKB0048 in 2012. What followed next were plenty of smaller roles in well-known anime, like playing Yamazaki in Little Busters. But her first breakthrough came from voicing La Folia Rihavein in the 2013 harem, Strike the Blood. Then, it wasn’t long before she got another main role, playing Emi Murakami in Jinsei, and voicing Kashiwagi Eri in Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend.
In 2015, Saori Oonishi got one of her signature characters, named Ais Wallenstein, in DanMachi (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). But that wasn’t all, as 2015 even saw Saori Oonishi voicing Hisako Arato in the very popular Food Wars TV anime. In addition, she was Non Toyoguchi in Keijo, Vigne in Gabriel DropOut and Seji Muramasa in Eromanga Sensei. While there are plenty of roles to bring up, in 2019, Saori Oonishi voiced Kaori Shirasaki in Arifureta.
In 2021, she played Nozomi in Sonny Boy, and in 2022, she’s voicing Chateau Dankworth in Love of Kill. Now, Saori Oonishi will voice Shikimori in the highly-anticipated Shikimori’s Not just a Cutie TV anime, and I can’t wait!
Micchon Shikimori’s Character Design

Who is Shikimori? Micchon Shikimori is a nice and caring person, who hides true self behind her many activities, most of which she’s really good at. Thus, she’s also very competitive. Not only in sports, but even when it comes to her boyfriend, Yuu Izumi. By that I mean that Shikimori looks at everyone that speaks to Izumi as a threat, which means that she can be rather jealous. Ironically enough, she’s popular and liked by pretty much everybody!
