Following the first trailer for the Venom: Let There Be Carnage, many were upset, and some were downright disappointed. With good cause, I should add. It simply felt like Venom 2 was making the same mistakes as the first film, and taking itself far too seriously. While it had some funny moments, the dark and eerie tone was a double-edged sword. You either loved it or you hated it. Thus, there was cause for concern. Now, the second official Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer has arrived, and it’s definitely way better! It’s far more action-packed, and also tells us the story of Cletus Kasady, and more Woody is always goody, isn’t it?
While the trailer patches some of my concerns, it creates others. I mean, the visual effects look quite wonky, and there’s no sound when Carnage is holding the man against the wall. It seems like something is missing? Perhaps I’m alone in feeling this way, but what does it matter? We’re just here for the trailer, and time will tell if the film is good or bad. Therefore, I suggest you watch the trailer below and see what you think? Hopefully you’ll love it!
“Eddie, you feel like home to me. You’re like family.” – Cletus Kasady
Plot: “One year after the events of Venom (2018), investigative journalist Eddie Brock struggles to adjust to life as the host of the alien symbiote Venom, which grants him super-human abilities in order to be a lethal vigilante. Brock attempts to reignite his career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of the symbiote Carnage and escapes prison after a failed execution.”
Andy Serkis is at the helm of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, with the screenplay written by Kelly Marcel. It’s starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady, and Michelle Williams as Anne Weying. Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set to premiere September 24, 2021.
