The release date for Higurashi When They Cry – SOTSU has finally been confirmed, and it’s been a long time coming! Set for a July 1st premiere, the horror franchise will pick up where it left off. Higurashi SOTSU will continue from GOU, which aired from late 2020 until March, 2021. It’s safe to assume it’ll be equal parts interesting and disturbing. While the Higurashi franchise isn’t suitable for everybody, I suggest watching the Higurashi SOTSU trailer below, and making up your own mind. Whether it’s too much or just enough, if blatantly up to the viewer!

Plot (Higurashi GOU): “Keiichi Maebara has transferred from the city to the village of Hinamizawa that lies deep in the wilderness. The village was spared from a plan to build a dam that would have sunk it under a lake, and it is now surrounded by nature and following its ancient customs. Keiichi makes new friends there and lives an ordinary life. But once a year, Hinamizawa village celebrates its festival, Watanagashi, and with it Keiichi’s calm days are over, and a chain of unending tragedy begins.”
