Time flies, doesn’t it? Just yesterday, we started this amazing journey. Soon, Attack on Titan season 4, will finish the saga! We’re crossing the finish line together, with hopes held up high! Let’s keep in mind, Attack on Titan is coming to an end together with Hajime Isayama’s manga. Therefore, we’ll be getting a proper ending to the show! It’s quite comforting, considering that I don’t read the manga and merely focus on the anime TV series. While that may be bad in some people’s eyes, I’m sure there’s common ground when it comes to our expectations of the final season. It honestly looks epic, yet there’s some uncertainty amongst fans. For good reason, I might add.

Last Season, New Studio and New Director

The obvious takeaway from the trailer is the animation style, which looks quite different, doesn’t it? It should not be surprising, considering that Wit Studio will not be animating Attack on Titan season 4. Instead, studio MAPPA will be taking over. It’s quite the burden to bear, as fans have grown accustomed to Wit Studio’s efforts. It’s quite a polarizing decision, undoubtedly. However, most will likely hold their criticism until the saga is completed. But, this isn’t the worrying change.
The final season will be directed by Yuichiro Hayashi. This means, Tetsuro Araki won’t be finishing the anime he’s overseen for years, leading to concern. Understandably so, as Araki’s work is well-respected, with a great library of work. It’s somewhat sad, not seeing him finish what he started. But, the end result will speak for itself, as the trailer looks promising. In all honesty, Studio MAPPA surely know the weight on their shoulders. Therefore, let’s just wait and see!
