The 2022 FIFA World Cup is inspiring production and animation studios to create soccer anime. But that’s hardly surprising, considering how popular soccer is worldwide, and how many people will watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Therefore it’s worth capturing the magic and creating a TV show that will ride the wave of success! Or at least, that’s the hope, isn’t it? Thus, we’ve got yet another soccer anime for 2022, titled Aoashi.
What is Aoashi (Ao Ashi)? It’s a Yuugo Kobayashi-written manga series, with 26 volumes. It began serialization on January 5, 2015. But there’s more! On July 12, 2021, a spin-off manga, titled Aoashi: Brotherfoot, debuted.
Akira Satou is directing the Aoashi TV anime adaptation, who’s working together with Masahiro Yokotani (series composition). Yuusuke Takeda and Tsukasa Kakizakai are the art directors, with Shouji Hata as the sound director. Masaru Yokoyama is the composer, so he’ll be making music for the Aoashi soccer anime.
Make sure to watch the official trailer for Aoashi below! And don’t forget, the Aoashi TV anime will premiere in April, 2022.
